2012 Presentation Night wrap-up
The BRSC annual Presentation Night went off well with a good showing of members gathering to celebrate the achievements of sailors over the past season. There was little surprise when Mark Mulligan and Bob Eggins retained their respective club championship crowns, although Mark was gracious in acknowledging the efforts of Chris Culph and how he looms as a potential threat for the coming season. In the juniors, Alison Ostenfeld just held Zac Heuchmer at bay to be awarded Junior Champion for 2012 and special mentions were made of the gallant efforts and development shown by Sunny and Cedar Starling. In acknowledgment of her tireless work, Anita Ostenfeld (pictured) was the worthy recipient of the Jack Ellis memorial trophy, whilst daughter Sarah was similarly acknowledged for her tireless efforts in maintaining on-water discipline (floggers award). Sunny Starling received the Junior Encouragement Award and special mention was made of the recent performance by Chris Cook in finishing second in the Access World Championships. In recognition of those efforts, Chris was awarded the perpetual Champions Cup. Bill Heuchmer accepted the award on Chris's behalf and gave a fitting response as to how Chris would be an honoured recipient.
